Installing Cork Flooring

Cork flooring is offered as floating and glue down tiles. Floating floors are much larger and lock together with a tongue and groove system that does not require any glue. Cork tiles are glued down. The tiles are less expensive, but installation is more time consuming and costly. The glue down tiles can only be installed over flat, dry surfaces, but the floating floor can be installed over a substrate that has some imperfections.

With floating floors, cork planks come in 1 x 3 feet dimensions, so DIY installation is quick, easy work that does not require glue, meaning you can walk on it immediately. All floating floors come with a built-in underlayment to help lower room noise and feature three coats of durable factory finish.

Contemporary Arizona Home

This modern Arizona home combines minimal materials such as cement and metal with softer textures such as wood and cork tiles to create a comfortable living space. The back of the home consists of a large wall of windows that frame the McDowell mountains and a beautiful wooden deck and pool. To keep the home cool during the hot summers, the main entrance of the home is on the top level and all the living space is beneath it which keeps the lower levels cool.

Austin Kitchen Installs Cork Flooring

Out of all the places in Texas, it seems as if Austin embraces the eco-friendly movement when it comes to home renovation. This kitchen renovation turned out wonderful and it was nice to see that the home owners used two different colors for the cabinets which adds a nice modern touch to the room. The darker tiles used for the flooring ground the space and complement the wood color of the lower cabinets.

Cork Flooring In Craft Room

A cork flooring customer has installed a floating floor in their craft room and the results turned out amazing. The floorings natural tones work well with the wall and accent colors, creating a fun place to let your creativity flow.

Stylish Kitchen Renovation

This is a amazing kitchen renovation done in Hawaii and shows a lot of attention to details and the home owners great design aesthetics. The renovations include horizontal glass back splash that picks up the coloring of the cabinets, counters and the cork flooring and the metal farm sink and stove range adds a nice modern feel to the room. I particularly like how they framed the sink and the island with columns which is a great touch.
